To Kill a Mocking Bard

We didn’t know what we were doing on that sunny day
When we chose his silly song, now he won’t go away
Oh, to find someone to kill him can not be too hard
Cause we all rue the day that we made him our bard

It wasn’t too bad at first, he wrote some funny songs
Now we want to rip his tongue out with a pair of blacksmith’s tongs
We didn’t find out til too late that he had a mocking soul
But damn that bardic protection, his death can’t be our goal

His ego’s swelled up like the sea, there is no end in sight
Don’t irritate him too much or youll be in for a fright
He’ll write a song about you that’ll make your cringe and cry
And when he’s finished singing, youll crawl away to die

What is this were seeing? He’s putting armor on!
Once he steps out on the field, his protection will be gone
We’ll jump him one and all, and beat him to the ground
And walk off that tourney field with smiles all around

We were proud and mighty and surely knew no fear
We gathered round the campfire to enjoy a keg of beer
And then we heard our bard, and he did what he does best
He sang a song ‘bout sheep and us, and something ‘bout incest
